ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC – Ryan Hinds was the only player that ran afoul of West Indies authorities during the fourth round of matches in the WICB Regional first-class championship, which ended on Monday.
The Barbados captain was fined 65 per cent of his match fee, following his side’s match against Guyana at the Guyana National Stadium.
Hinds was reported by umpires Norman Malcolm, Nigel Duguid, and Shannon Crawford for showing dissent by word or action at an umpire’s decision.
The charge was upgraded to Level 2, since it was Hinds’ second Level 1 offence in 12 months. The first offence was during the WICB Regional One-day competition last October.
Hinds pleaded guilty to the charge, accepted the proposed sanction, and a hearing was avoided. All Level 2 charges carry a range of between 50 to 100 per cent of a player’s match fee and/or a ban for one regional first-class match or two One-day matches.
