LONDON, CMC – Nicolette Fernandes is on the move again in the Women’s International Squash Players’ Association rankings.
The Caribbean’s top female squash player from Guyana is now ranked 45th in the latest World rankings published by WISPA yesterday.
This represents a move up in the World rankings of three places for the 27-year-old Fernandes.
Her move up is surprising however, considering she has only played one competition for the year – the Cleveland Classic in January – where she failed to make it out of the qualifying round, after she was beaten by Joelle King in straight games.
Fernandes reached a career-high World ranking of No.27 in May 2007, but a career-threatening knee injury, which sidelined her for almost two years, undermined her progress.
