(De Ware Tijd) Paramaribo — Suriname advocates a simplified procedure to apply for relief of the Common External Tariff (CET) at CARICOM. In that framework, the Association of Surinamese Manufacturers (ASFA) has developed a digital system that Suriname will present to CARICOM this year. Thursday, a presentation was held for the delegation of the CARICOM-secretariat that was paying a working visit to Paramaribo. According to Trade and industry (HI) Minister Michael Miskin, the current procedure to ask for relief of the CET is much too time consuming.
