The four men held after police found an unlicensed shotgun with cartridges at a Hog Island camp last Wednesday have been released.
Police had said at about 4:30pm last Wednesday, acting on information received, ranks went to a camp at Eastern Hog Island, Essequibo, where a search was conducted and an unlicensed single barrel 16-gauge shotgun, with two matching cartridges and a 12-gauge cartridge, were found.
The four men were arrested and were assisting with investigations. Following the release of the men without charge, a resident yesterday expressed concern that similar incidences had reportedly occurred involving some of the men and they were never charged.
