Dear Editor,
I sent a copy of letter (enclosed) to the District Village Office at Plantain Walk, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, about my cottage being dismantled piece by piece, and now the neighbours are stealing my land bit by bit. I am still expected to pay rates for all the land, and have to pay £200 each time to have it weeded, yet the neighbours are using it as a rubbish tip.
Everyone in my family is overseas. I was hoping to live on the land, but since the cottage was stolen I have become afraid to live among such people. I have decided to sell to the highest bidder.
Yours faithfully,
Stella Best
