Deje Dias got the better of Steven Xavier on Wednesday night when the Kool-Aid Junior Skill Level Tournament continued at the Georgetown Club.
In a battle between two seemingly evenly matched, aggressive players Dias surprisingly triumphed in straight games 11-4, 13-11, 11-4.
Down by two sets to love Xavier raced to a 4 – 2 lead only for Dias to win the next nine points and end the match.
In other matches of the night Taylor Fernandes took down Mahendra Khusial 11 – 4, 12 – 10, 11 – 2 while Jason-Ray Khalil disposed of Mary Fung-a-Fat 11 – 0, 11 – 6, 11 – 5.
