Up and coming local gospel artiste Ryan Hoppie is currently in Jamaica performing at the week-long gospel event, Elasha Spring Fest where he is expected to share the stage with international gospel singer DJ Nicholas.
Accompanying Hoppie to Jamaica is drummer John Benn, who leads gospel band Purpose Driven Youths. Benn will back Hoppie on the drum, while on stage.
Both men are representing Legacy Management Agency (LMA), a recently formed Christian agency that coordinates Christian events ranging from planning and promoting concerts to logistical support for events.
According to a release from LMA, the Elasha Spring Fest “is the ultimate spring break event” which is an initiative spearheaded by the Nazarene churches in Jamaica. The week’s activities include Ministry Day-painting, maintenance of institutions; witnessing in the town; Beach Gospel party, Youth Extravaganza, Gospel Jazz & Blues at the poolside and a grand gospel concert.
One of the promoters of the event, Darren Brown said: “We’re happy to have Ryan come here and perform. And hope this is the beginning of collaboration with us and Legacy.”
Hoppie, who is also the secretary of LMA sees the trip “as one to establish links with Legacy and Jamaica and is humbled by this opportunity to minister on a Jamaican stage,” the release said.
