A team of officials and coaches from the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) will be in Linden today for another coaching stint.
According to GTTA coach, Andrew Daly, a battery of coaches including Colin France and Linden Johnson will be involved in a follow up coaching programme at the Senior Supervisors Club from 9am-2pm.
Daly said the visit to Linden is another attempt to make the former table tennis stronghold vibrant.
The area has in the past produced players of the calibre of Milton George, Ray Ramessar, Horace Benjamin, Kenneth `Gummy’ and Vincent `Baba’ John, Lennox `Kowie’ and Gairy Stephens and Auric Tappin who later went on to distinguish himself at basketball.
Daly said the coaches will be talent spotting with the aim of having the talent identified participate in tournaments in Georgetown with a view towards making the national team.
Recently, Lethem Wilson was voted president of the Linden Table Tennis Association (LTTA) which has been resuscitated after a period of over two decades.
