Ravindra Sookram, 21 years of Thomas Street, Kitty, was today charged with causing death by dangerous driving. He appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court where he was placed on $2.5 million bail.
Police say that the charge resulted from investigations into a fatal accident that occurred on March 09, 2011, at Liliendaal Railway Embankment, ECD, which resulted in the death of taxi driver Cecil Callendar of Evan Phillips Park, Agricola, Georgetown.
