DHAKA, (Reuters) – South Africa did Group B rivals India, England and West Indies a big favour by securing all three teams a place in the Cricket World Cup quarter-finals after beating Bangladesh by 206 runs today.
Set an imposing 285 to win, the co-hosts were soon in trouble, losing their first four wickets for 21 and they eventually crumbled to 78 all out.
The result confirmed South Africa as Group B winners. The outcome of India’s match against West Indies on Sunday will decide the positions of the other three qualifiers from the group.
