Franklyn and Errol Diamond United Sports Club in Trinidad is very happy with the fact that their regular overseas player Devendra Bishoo has made it onto the West Indies Cricket team.
President of the club, Brian Julien said Bishoo helped develop his game at the Diamond Village team and it made everyone proud at the club that he has gone on to make the West Indies team.
“We are all very proud of the achievement of Bishoo. The young man came to Trinidad and played at our club and it fills us with so much pride that he has made it unto the West Indies cricket team.”
Currently Bishoo’s fellow countryman Jonathan Foo is at Diamond United plying his trade. According to Julien the Guyanese players have brought a lot to the club.
“Our players coming from Guyana have brought a lot to our club and Bishoo was an example in that aspect. “When they come to play with us, they brought a level of professionalism that lifted the other members of the club.
“Bishoo always had that ambition, that hunger to play for the West Indies cricket team and he has achieved just that.”
Bishoo made his debut for the West Indies against England, claiming 3/37 in their World Cup clash last Thursday in Chennai, India.
