I am writing this in reply to Mr Edward Seeraj’s letter that was published in the Stabroek News of March 13, captioned ‘A double century and a century.’ My letter is not specifically intended to fault Mr Seeraj, since indeed I may have been wrong about Lawrence Rowe’s scores as these were obtained from second-hand information and the event transpired quite a long time ago.
However, I am sure that I am not that grossly incorrect to suggest that Lawrence Rowe did make a triple century and a double century in his Test debut.
