Dear Editor,
It’s with great concern I am writing concerning the way the Ministry of Housing and Water is dealing with housing issues in Lethem. For the past two-and-a-half years there have been no housing officials who conduct interviews, and deal with allocation and the issuing of titles visiting this location. There are a number of applicants waiting to be interviewed; what does the ministry expect these people to be doing if it’s wrong to squat?
There are a lot of other land issues to be sorted out, like low-lying areas which are flooded and given to some persons. There is a need at least for a housing official for this region given the many constraints that we face at this end and the limited visits by the ministry.
