Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (Gecom) Dr. Steve Surujbally was the first to receive copies of the 2011 telephone directory.
The twenty copies handed to Surujbally launched the distribution exercise and Project-Director, Guyana Telephone Directory Guyenterprise Lisa Insanally said the directory is an invaluable resource to Guyanese. This being an election year, she said, the directory offers an eight-page spread of useful information based on the electoral process, Dos and Don’ts, the voting process, and such like.
Surujbally recalled the days when persons couldn’t locate their basic information in the directory. That is no longer the case, he mentioned. The directory serves as a very useful resource, where one can find telephone numbers, addresses and even the correct spelling of a person’s name. He further congratulated GT&T and Guyenterprise, which produces the directory annually, on a job well done
