PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Trinidad and Tobago will be boosted by the World Cup trio of Darren Bravo, Keiron Pollard and Ravi Rampaul for their semi-final of the Regional First Class Championship against Jamaica, starting this weekend.
All three players, who returned from West Indies duty last weekend, have made themselves available for the encounter scheduled for UWI SPEC ground in St. Augustine.
Chairman of the national selection panel Dudnath Ramkessoon welcomed the trio’s return, noting that it would bolster the side considerably.
“Having the three West Indies players makes it a wonderful situation for T&T,” Ramkessoon said.
“They would obviously add strength to the team as we look to reach the finals of the tournament.”
T&T, however, will have to continue to do without the services of opener Adrian Barath who was forced out of the World Cup with injury.
Ramkessoon said the 20-year-old right-hander would not be considered for selection as his fitness had not been cleared. Selectors were expected to meet yesterday to pick the final squad.
T&T finished second in the preliminary stage of the tournament with 52 points, five behind leaders Combined Campuses and Colleges.
While T&T face Jamaica the third placed Jamaicans, CCC will meet the fourth placed Windward Islands at the 3Ws Oval in Barbados.
