In an effort to alleviate the discomfort experienced by the residents of New Forest, due to the overtopping of the Canje Creek, Berbice, the Indian Arrival Committee (IAC) continued its community outreaches.
According to a recent IAC press release executive members of the committee, Neaz Subhan, Raymond Azeez, Aditya Persaud, Secretary Maria Rasheed and a team of volunteers distributed care packages consisting of food stuff and cleaning aids to more than 45 housholds in the community.
Notably present and also engaged in the process of bringing relief to residents were teams from the ministries of Agriculture, Health and the Regional Democratic Council, Region Six.
The release noted that the IAC has conducted similar outreaches in the Mahaica, Mahaicony and Abary communities as well.
The committee has long since been engaged in activities designed to bring relief to Guyanese in need, the release said.
