Four armed bandits early this morning invaded the Sophia home of an elderly couple.
The men, who all had handguns, escaped with a small amount of gold jewellery and cash after tumbling the house.
Shirley Shepherd said that during the 2 am incident one of the bandits told her he loved her and did not want to harm her. “He sey ‘mom, just show me whey de gold and money deh’” the 62-year-old woman recalled.
Her 83-year-old husband Albert Clarke, a nephew and a grandson were also in the house at the time.
After spending about ten minutes in the house the men fled on foot. They gained entry by breaking a side window with a coconut.
Police are on the scene conducting investigations.
