A Canadian-based Guyanese, who has been renovating his house at Bath Settlement, West Berbice, has disappeared since Tuesday after leaving to transact business in Georgetown.
The man, Chetram Harrinarine, first visited the Republic Bank branch at Rosignol. He then joined a taxi and stopped at Bath Settlement to inform his neighbours that he was heading to Georgetown.
He has not been heard from since and relatives are worried about him. They told Stabroek News that he had workers at his home when he left on Tuesday.
They said too that he suffers from a back problem and he intended to re-migrate soon to relax.
A sister-in-law said she does not believe he is dead but feels that he may be hurt and is lying in a hospital.
She has since made a report to the Fort Wellington Police Station.
