Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) limped to 214-8 at the close of the first day’s play of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Carib Beer/Friends of Heroes first division competition against the Demerara Cricket Club at Queenstown yesterday.
The Carib Beer/Friends of Cricket two-day competition recommenced with GCC, after being installed to bat by the home side, losing wickets at crucial periods after a comfortable start.
Johnson, who hit three fours and a six, and Singh, who stroked three fours, shared in a fifth wicket stand of 46.
When the partnership was broken, Johnson had scored 56 while Singh continued but found no ally until Treon Forde chipped in with 24 which included two sixes.
Left arm spinner Totaram Bishun was again among the wickets with 4-82 from 30 overs while Christopher Barnwell had 2-28 and Kevin George 2-40 from 10 and 15 overs respectively.
The match concludes today.
