Guyanese, Laurence Clarke, has been promoted to the position of Director in the World Bank.
This position is the third most senior in the World Bank outside of the President.
Clarke who hails from Plaisance on the East Coast is an old student of Queen’s College from 1962 to 1969. He was the editor of the recent book on Plaisance Village from “Emancipation to Independence”.
Clarke is presently the Manager of the Southern Sudan Programme and Juba Office for the World Bank.
