Dear Editor,
My letter to a local newspaper (SN) a year ago stated that Ramotar would be the worst disaster this country would experience if he became the next president. As the ball rolls on into the election season, this fact will be revealed.
The fact that Ralph Ramkarran chucked in the towel without a fight exposes his inability to lead in any case. I hope he has reasons for letting down his comrades in GAWU, the main union in the sugar industry.
Noticeably, the leaders of GAWU did not attend the voting exercise of the Executive Committee of the PPP, held on Saturday last. Is this a clear message that they are about to break ranks with the Jagdeo legacy?
The PPP will never be the same again, and that will be a good thing for the party and the Guyanese nation. The members and supporters of the PPP must reclaim the party for their interest, away from those who have become millionaires overnight. How will Mr Ramotar defend this extravagance and gross mismanagement of the country’s wealth?
Yours faithfully,
Mike Rahman
