The Rigby/Nedd Games which was scheduled for this Sunday at the Blairmont Sports Club Ground, Berbice will once again be postponed by the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) to a date yet to be announced by the association.
The games which is to be held in honour of the late Roxanna Rigby and David Nedd who both are natives of the ancient county was cancelled once again because of unfit ground conditions.
“They have a ground condition there that is unsuitable because of the rainy weather, so the games will be off until the ground is in better condition. So now we’re focusing on the under-23 games coming up on the 17th of April,” Colin Boyce, President of the AAG told Stabroek Sport via telephone.
Meanwhile the under-23 games will afford a chance for those athletes now making the transition from the junior to the senior category to compete among their peers and is expected to showcase the future of Guyanese athletics.
