A Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, Berbice died in a Jet Ski accident in the Corentyne River yesterday.
Chetram Jagnit, 57, was jet skiing in the Grant 1651 Crabwood Creek area when hit a metal punt in the water, lost control of the vehicle and went under.
The accident occurred at about 6:30 am, while he was towing a boy on the Jet Ski. Jagnit was reportedly not wearing safety gear or a life jacket. The boy, who was wearing a life jacket, later swam to shore and raised an alarm about the accident.
A search was later conducted and Jagnit’s body was recovered in the area where the accident occurred. He was declared dead on arrival at the Skeldon Hospital. Police are investigating the incident.
