PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – New Trinidad and Tobago coach Otto Pfister is scheduled to leave for London next week to meet with England-born players eligible to represent the national team.
The move is the first major one for the 73-year-old German since he was unveiled as Russell Latapy’s replacement here last Tuesday.
“Coach Pfister has spoken to several people with a view towards making his recommendations for staff and this will be concluded within the next several days,” said T&T Football Federation’s technical adviser Keith Look Loy.
“He leaves for Britain on Monday primarily to speak to foreign-born players who qualify by ancestry to play for Trinidad and Tobago.
“He will be visiting their training sessions, talking to their clubs and talking to the players themselves in relation to inviting them for a trial with a view of joining the national team.”
According to the TTFF, Pfister has also finalized 50-man group comprising local and overseas-based players who he will invite to upcoming training camps. The first session is scheduled for next Monday.
Two internationals have been slated for June 1 and August 10 respectively but the opponents have not been named.
