The Mori J’Von Comedy Jam and Entertainment Group is launching its National Easter Tour 2011 next Friday.
According to a press release the first party and launching will see the New Amsterdam Technical Institute at Berbice coming alive with Comedy Jam’s funny man Sir Kirwin Mars as well as chutney and soca music.
Executive Producer Ron Morrison said the first show will see an all-star line up featuring local, regional and international artists deliver what is hoped to be one of the most-talked about shows in the country. “We are committed to good quality, realistic and internationally recognised shows and productions,” he said.
The programme also contains an element where the crowd will choose the best chutney and soca star from a group of seven vying for supremacy who will be dubbed the best performer of the evening. This group of performers will be headlined by international chutney star Neeshan D’Hitman Prahboo and feature live performances by Guyana’s reigning Chutney Queen Fiona Singh, Banks groovy soca monarch Jumo Primo, Fojo, former soca monarch Shelly G, Barbados King Shepherd and teenage chutney sensation Andrew “D’Titan” Busgith.
The public can also expect a thrill with performances from Guyana’s Number One male belly dancer Sexy Eshwar, Elastic Granny Ivelaw, the X-factor dancers and Comedy Jam cast members. Music will also be provided by Caribbean Hotshot Band and Berbice’s Paragon Sounds.
