The Central Police Operational Youth Club (CPOYC) of New Amsterdam outreach and community enhancement programme will continue tomorrow with the staging of a grand day of sports.
The programme, which is under the leadership of Station Sergeant Jairam Ramlakhan, will be held at the Recreational Hall and the Central Police Station
Outdoor Recreational Centre, both situated in the compound of the Central Police Station.
A number of indoor and outdoor games will be played such as whist, dominoes, table tennis, football, cricket and boxing exhibitions.
Teams are expected to come from Central Police Station, Felix Austin B Division Police Training, Guyana Defence Force, along with civilian teams.
The CPOYC’s female cricket team, which was launched by the club recently at the Central Police Station Recreational Centre is also expected to be in action.
According to coordinator Ramlakhan of the Central Police Station, the activity and other community activities are all part of the police force’s effort to keep youths out of trouble and actively involved in constructive activities.
