An Essequibo businessman is nursing two gunshot wounds after he resisted a gunman while shopping on Regent Street.
Ganesh Jaigobin who owns a supermarket at Anna Regina is receiving treatment at a city hospital and his condition is said to be critical.
One of the bullets is lodged in his arm and another in the abdomen.
The gunman escaped with a bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash. He had an accomplice on a motor cycle waiting a short distance from the scene.
