The Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) has donated G$100,000 to Naomi Singh, the only female among four cyclists who will represent Guyana at the International Easter Fest cycling championship next weekend in Trinidad.
This money which was donated last Friday evening at the GCC ground, Bourda, will go towards her personal expenditure.
Meanwhile, Floodlights `A’ won a special softball encounter against the Floodlights B team. In the match, Floodlights B batting first, scored 202 off 25 overs with Ricky Deonarine hitting the topscore of 51.
He received excellent support from Kamal Seebaran who scored an unbeaten 44.
Floodlights A were led to victory by a fine all round performance from Ramchand Ragbeer, who scored an unbeaten knock of 30 in addition to capturing two vital wickets when Floodlights B batted.
Hardat Singh was the topscorer for Floodlights A with 69 while Bedi Ramjeewan ended on 27 not out.
Ragbeer was named man of the match.
