The East Coast Cricket Board (ECCB) has identified 32 players for preparation for the 2011 cricket season.
This is according to a release from the ECCB.
According to the release, the East Coast Carib Jaguars, currently the Demerara Champions after defeating the Georgetown Pit Bulls at the Guyana National Stadium last year, will have their first encounter for the year on May 1 at the Albion Community Centre in the Annjee’s Fashions 20/20 Arrival Cup tournament.
“There are going to be four powerful teams vying for the top prizes which include the East Berbice Titans, West Berbice Super Kings, East Coast Jaguars and the Georgetown Pit Bulls,” the release noted.
The players identified by the ECCB according to the release are: Zaheer Mohamed, Richard Chutra, Rajendra Chandrika, Collis Butts, Vishal Lall, Troy Gonsalves, Ramaamit Pooran, Wasim Hamslim, Vishnu Ramjitt, Leon Scott, Imran Khan, Derron Peters, Rajendra Naikbarran, Joseph Perry, Azam Haniff, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Kumar Bissoondyal, Yogeshwar Bishun, Rawle Fredericks, Permanand Rampersaud, Clive Andries, Sumnauth Bharrat, Marvin Cato, Bhimrat Ramkellawan, Neron Meusa, Adiran Persaud, Suresh Budhu, Arif Habib, Ravi Sighn, Christopher Surat, Tyron English, Wayne Narine.
The ECCB will stage a net session tomorrow from 2pm at the Lusignan Community Centre and a practice match on Wednesday from 1.30pm at the same venue.
