The New York Chapter of the Pele Football Club will stage an eight team under-17 knockout football tournament, coach Gordon Braithwaite said yesterday.
According to the former national captain, the competition commences tomorrow at two venues in the city the Georgetown Football club (GFC) and the Tucville playfield.
At GFC tomorrow, Pele will tackle Renaissance from 3pm while at 5pm homesters Georgetown Football Club will oppose Western Tigers.
And, over at the Tucville Playfield, Santos and Camptown will clash at 3pm with Fruta Conquerors coming up against Flamingo at 5pm.
Braithwaite said the semi-finals of the tournament will be held on Saturday with next Wednesday set for the final.
The tournament forms part of Pele Football Club’s 40th anniversary celebrations which commences on Easter Sunday.
