Former Linden swimming champion Onan Orlando Thom who was wanted by police turned himself in to law enforcement agents yesterday afternoon.
Police had issued a wanted bulletin on March 11 for Thom, 26, of Old England, Upper Demerara. He was wanted for questioning in relation to abduction and robbery under arms. In a statement, the police said that he surrendered to them at about 3pm yesterday.
The bulletin was issued for Thom after a Siberia/Old England, Linden family reported to the police that Thom had abducted one of their relatives in Nottinghamshire during which rounds were fired.
The home of the Frederickses of the inland location of Linden was later fired upon by a lone gunman.
No one was injured. They had said that they had long been a target of Thom over an old grievance he had with some of their relatives.
