A Better Hope man was last night shot to the ear by a gunman during an apparent robbery attempt.
Police said that around 1930h last night, Eldon Chisholm, 46, of Better Hope, ECD, had just returned home and as he exited his motor vehicle he was confronted by two men who were armed with a handgun and a piece of steel rod.
Chisholm resisted and a scuffle ensued between himself and the men during which he managed to free himself and run away. The police said that the man with the firearm then discharged rounds at Chisholm, one of which struck him to his left ear. He was treated at the GPHC and sent away.
Investigations are in progress.
