Dear Editor,
I am writing about something that is worrying me. I am a rice and cash crop farmer in Dundee. On the southern side of the public road is a dam taking you to the old railway line. That dam was high, level with the public road. The eastern Mahaicony district council dug out the dam and sold the earth, the dam has gotten low with the rain falling. We can’t go to our garden with our donkey cart. We have to walk and this is causing plenty punishment. Also on the dam there is a fence erected by I don’t know who. Because of that the dam became narrow. It should be removed and put in the compound of the abandoned rice mill. There is also a trench that has become a garbage dump.
Whenever the Minister Robert Persaud comes to Novar school to keep meetings this matter always comes up and nothing is ever done.
Yours faithfully,
J Ramdeo
