Three persons who allegedly broke and entered the XU-QUIN store and stole more than $11.2M worth of goods were yesterday granted bail when they appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Bobby Moore, Kevin Harris and Alicia Griffith were jointly charged with breaking and entering and larceny on April 17.
The trio is said to have stolen a quantity of items, including 30 wigs, 29 sneakers, 49 ladies shoulder bags, 66 ladies tops and other items valued in excess of $11.2M.
Attorney-at-law Lyndon Amsterdam, representing Moore, told the court that the individual resides at 14 Norton Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown with his wife and five children. Amsterdam informed the court that his client was already placed on $50,000 station bail and also there were no facts in the police statement indicating that the three defendants are known to each other, therefore the possibility existed that there was no conspiracy to rob the store.
However, when Magistrate Octive-Hamilton asked the other two defendants their addresses, they both indicated that they reside at 103 Regent Street.
The magistrate then asked Amsterdam to advise the three defendants to have nothing to do with the virtual complainants during the matter.
Bail was fixed in the sum of $80,000 each and the matter was transferred to Court One for June 9.
