The Under-15 One Day Cricket Tournament being held by the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) continued yesterday at the Demerara Cricket Club Ground.
The day saw Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) defeating Gandhi Youth Organization (GYO) by 58 runs despite a key performance by Tagenarine Chanderpaul for the GYO.
Batting first DCC scraped their way to 202 for 9 off their allotted overs with Cleon Mcewan top scoring with 63 runs while Michael Sherlim played a steady hand of 26.
Ryan Shun delivered a testing bowling spell and picked up 4 wickets for 39 runs off 9 overs while Chanderpaul showed superb discipline when he picked 1 for 28 off 11 overs.
In reply GYO could only muster 144 for 6 off their allotted overs with Chanderpaul top scoring with a patient 67. Damian Waldron was the only other batsman to reach double figures as most of the GYO batsmen showed indiscipline in running between the wickets and lost their wickets mainly to indecisive running.
