The Millie Lewis Memorial Female Cricket Tournament organised by the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) will bowl off today with the county’s only two female teams Rose Hall Town Metro and Tucber Park clashing in the opening match at the Area “H” Ground.
The 40-over tournament which is being sponsored by well-known contractor Peter Lewis of Hampshire in memory of his late mother Millie gets underway at 11:00 hours.
The two teams will competet in a best of three series for the crown of national female champions.
Rose Hall Town Metro will start as the more favoured side on their home turf.
They will be led by West Indies player and national captain Shemaine Campbelle and is expected to receive support from West Indies pacer Erva Giddings and national players Melanie Henry, Nikita Toney, Natasha Gangoo and junior national all rounder Jacquelin Singh.
Tucber Park will depend heavily on the West Indies duo of Tremayne Smartt and Subrina Munroe and the experienced Tracey Miller to lead their side. Support is also expected from Katana Mentore, Ceylon Daniels, and Steffi Rodney.

Tucber Park: Tremayne Smartt, Tracey Miller, Subrina Munroe, Katana Mentore, Steffi Rodney, Candacy Richmond, Sherry Fraser, Corrine Richmond, Roxanne Baichoo, Ceylon Daniels, Sherika Campbelle, Shondell Mansell and Cassie Davis.
