Dear Editor,
My milkman named Robbin from Third Street, Success, East Coast Demerara reported that three men in a white car on Monday morning stole one of his dairy cows and butchered it in the compound of the well-known chimney in Chateau Margot.
The animal’s guts, waste and entrails could be seen, as the thieves took away the meat only. The matter was reported to the BV police station, but no action was taken to date.
Two persons in the village saw three strange men acting suspiciously yesterday morning in a white car and blood was seen dripping from the trunk of the vehicle. According to the owner of the cattle, Robin, this was not the first time thieves have disrupted his only livelihood and stolen his cattle.
Robin is a young man who depends on his cattle to make a living, and this loss is devastating and worrying for him. The cow is valued at about $300,000 dollars.
Thieves and robbers are roaming this once peaceful hamlet on the East Coast at all hours in the night and use the chimney compound as a safe haven. Villagers are very worried with this new trend.
Earlier this year a businessman was gunned down by bandits in his home in this village!
Yours faithfully,
Rooplall Dudhnath
