(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO — Friday last week, President Bouterse was not invited to the traditional Queen’s Day-reception at the home of the Dutch Ambassador. This is confirmed by Foreign Affairs (BUZA) Minister Winston Lackin. Neither were the press and Vice President Robert Ameerali. Ambassador Aart Jacobi had been instructed by The Hague to only invite Minister Lackin who did not attend the reception as he thinks it anything but politically correct that The Hague has neglected both democratically elected officials. The Hague disrespects Suriname and that is anything but correct, according to Lackin.
