Scottsburg United Cricket Club of Corriverton and Albion Community Centre are through to the semi-finals of the Ricks & Sari Agro Industries Under-13 Cricket Competition in Berbice.
According to a press release, in the match played at the Scottsburg ground, Rose Hall Town, batting first, quickly found themselves 39-5 as medium pacer Vadanand Sugrim took two early wickets in addition to two run-outs.
Off spinner Eon Esau grabbed the remaining five wickets for 13 runs off seven overs, as Rose Hall crashed to 70 all out.
Matthew Latchana, with 15, was the top scorer.
Scottsburg United, at one stage 29 for 3, recovered to be dismissed for 190.
Chavin Arnachellum, 32 not out, Sugrim 29 and Esau 25, were the principal scorers.
Bowling for Rose Hall Town, leg spinner Karran Singh took 2 for 40 and off spinner Daniel Lewis 2 for 60.
Facing a deficit of 120 runs, Rose Hall reached
70 for 4 at the end of the match allowing Scottsburg to advance on first innings points.
In the other quarter-final, Albion Community Centre secured a massive first innings lead over Kildonan in their drawn match to advance to the semi-finals.
In the match which was played at the Albion Sports Club ground, Albion, batting first, rattled up 212 for 5 declared, with Narendra Permaul top scoring with 40.
Devendra Latchman and Samuel Krishnasammy, chipped in with 35 and 30 runs respectively.
Kildonan, in reply, were dismissed for 45 in their first innings with Joel Holder top scoring with 21 not out.
Bowling for Albion Community Centre, off spinner Balchand Baldeo took 4 for 9 from 6 overs while leg spinner Veerean Ramoo snapped up 3 for 8 from 3.1 overs.
