(Barbados Nation) Kraigg Brathwaite will have to wait a while longer for his Test cricket debut as the West Indies’ selectors have kept faith with Devon Smith.
The prolific teenaged opener, along with Jamaican pacer Andre Russell were excluded when the West Indies’ 15-man training squad was cut to 13 players for the first Digicel Test against Pakistan starting at the Guyana National Stadium on Thursday.
Brathwaite will however remain in Guyana for the duration of the Test to work with West Indies team batting consultant Desmond Haynes.
Meanwhile Bajan pacer Fidel Edwards remain on course for a return to international cricket for the first time in two years after recovering from back surgery.
