The preliminary inquiry (PI) into the charges levelled against William Light for the murders of Cedrick Blackman and Ann Cham-A-Koon continued on Tuesday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
Blackman’s reputed wife Philomena Lancaster was examined by the prosecution and later cross-examined by attorney Adrian Thompson, who is representing Light.
Light, a construction worker, formerly of Stevedore Housing Scheme, is accused of the October 26 slaying of Blackman and Cham-A-Koon at Charlestown, Georgetown.
The accused, who reportedly ‘tripped out,’ is alleged to have hacked the two to death after going on a cutlass-wielding rampage, injuring Shawn DeSouza and Radesh Persaud in the process.
