National female cricket champions, Rose Hall Town Metro will defend their title in the Berbice Cricket Board/Mille Lewis Memorial female 40-overs tournament tomorrow at the Area ‘H’ Ground, Berbice.
Rose Hall Town Metro and Tucber Park are playing the final on a two best in three rubber.
The home team drew first blood after crushing Tucber Park in the first match by 165 runs and are favoured to lift the title tomorrow.
The star-studded Rose Hall Town Metro team will be led by national captain, Shemaine Campbelle who will spearhead their efforts with both bat and ball. National players Melanie Henry and Natasha Gangoo, former national junior players Jacquelin Singh, Tessa Park, Trisannie Cort and Nermala Sewdat will look to support the inform Campbelle in a strong batting line up.
West Indies pacer Erva Giddings will share the new ball for the hosts with Shenella Mc Bean while national left arm spinner Nikita Toney, 13-year-old off spinner Phaffiana Millington, leg spinner Campbelle and off spinner Gangoo will lend support in the bowling department.
Tucber Park will depend heavily on their West Indies duo of Tremayne Smartt and Subrina Munroe to offer resistance to the Rose Hall Town Metro Team which is unbeaten since its formation in 2007, a release from the BCB noted.
Smartt, Munroe, Steffi Rodney, Katana Mentore, Candacie Richmond and Ceylon Daniels will lead Tucber Park’s batting while the bowling will be in the capable hands of West Indies pacers Smartt and Munroe with the support of Rodney, Daniels and Mentore.
