A post-mortem examination (PME) performed yesterday on the body of Port Kaituma miner George Persaud revealed that he died from heart failure.
Divisional Commander David Ramnarine said that the PME, which was performed by government pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh has ruled out any foul play in the man’s death.
He said the information is that prior to his death he was seen “sporting”.
George was found dead in the Port Kaituma backdam early Saturday morning. His wife, according to a resident, had said he was complaining of persistent headaches during the days leading up to his death.
