North Georgetown Girls romped to another victory when they collided with Lodge Secondary over the weekend in the Scotiabank/Pepsi Schools Footbball Academy at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) Ground.
They defeated Lodge Secondary 3 – 1 to continue their winning streak after comfortably sinking East Ruimveldt 5 – 0 three days before.
Althea Holligan recorded yet another hat-trick in her team’s victory.
The hat-trick takes her tally of goals to six. She scored her first hat-trick against East Ruimveldt in last week’s game.
Holligan drew first blood for her side in the 20th minute then doubled the lead five minutes later to put Lodge down by two goals at the half-time whistle.
When play resumed, Holligan completed her hat-trick with a successful 59th minute strike to put the match further out of the opposition’s grasp. Lodge was able to score a consolation goal one minute before regulation time.
The competition continues today with two matches as St. George’s High School goes head-to-head with tournament powerhouse Tucville in a male showdown at the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) Ground from 15:30 hours.
Over at the Carifesta Ground, a female’s encounter between Christ Church and Queen’s College unfolds from 15:30 hours while Tutorial and East Ruimveldt will clash at the same venue tomorrow at the same time.
