The body of an unidentified man was yesterday midday found floating in the Demerara River beneath a wharf in Kingston.
Stabroek News was told that the discovery was made just before noon. According to a source, the man who appeared to be of East Indian descent, was trapped beneath the wharf. According to the source, the “tide musee wash de body in,” adding that he was clad in brown pants, a striped shirt and shoes.
The source said there were marks on the body.
Police ranks visited the scene and conducted investigations. The body is at the Lyken’s Funeral Home awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.
