The Commission of Inquiry into the accident at the Enmore factory on May 15 which resulted in the death of factory worker Jainarine Singh will commence its full investigation from today under the chairmanship of Dale Beresford.
The broad-based commission conducted a site visit onTuesday, a press release from GuySuCo said.
The broad-based team also consists of GAWU General Secretary Seepaul Narine; Rose Hall Workers Representative Mohamed Ahamad; and GuySuCo’s Industrial Relations Manager Deodat Sukhu and Factory Operations Manager Sharma Dwarka.
The establishment of the commission is based on a Memorandum of Agreement between GuySuCo and GAWU.
In the meantime, GuySuCo has alerted factory workers of the establishment of the commission and they are being encouraged to volunteer and give evidence to the investigating team, the release concluded.
