The two men charged with the marijuana bust at the John Fernandes Wharf were yesterday remanded to prison after appearing before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Leyland Nichols and George Burrowes denied that on June 16 at the John Fernandes Wharf, they conspired with person(s) unknown to traffic in 393 kilogrammes 544 grammes of cannabis.
Additionally, Burrowes was alleged to have had in his possession a forged US$100 without lawful authority or excuse knowing same to be forged.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Both men were remanded to prison until July 5.
