Western Union continued their support of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) yesterday for the third consecutive year as they supplied five Berbician under-19 cricketers with $300,000 in cricketing gear at the company’s head office on Water Street.
Marketing Manager Natheeah Mendonca opened with a message to the young players by describing opportunities asKodak moments. “They are only captured when one is prepared to take the shot.”
“Since 2009 Western Union has been presenting Kodak moments to young cricketers of RHTY&SC by offering support in education and sports and since then we have been saying to the young cricketers, make maximum use of whatever assistance you gain,” Mendonca commented.
According to Mendonca, Western Union started in 2009 with two of the cricketers and this has grown to five in 20i1 and they will look to increase the number each year.
The players who will be benefiting from the generosity of the money transfer company are Shawn Perriera, Loyden Lewis, Linden Austin, Guadakesh Motie and Kumar Madray.
Mendonca concluded by stating that Western Union is proud to be associated with Hilbert Foster and the RHTY&SC.
“Over the years, you have all shown your dedication and commitment to the game and have been successful thus Western Union is very pleased to be associated with the RHTY&SC and wish you every success in your cricketing and educational careers,” Mendonca stated.
Meanwhile Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the club and PRO of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB), Hilbert Foster thanked Western Union for their continued support.
