A man who pleaded not guilty to trafficking in narcotics at a Mahdia location was yesterday refused bail by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
The allegation against Mark James is that on June 19 at 111 Mile Mahdia he had in his possession 59 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that the substance was found on the defendant in his right pants pocket.
The magistrate refused the bail application and transferred the matter to the Mahdia Magistrates’ Court for July 20.
