Guyanese businessman Desmond ‘DA’ Alphonso did not leave the British Virgin Islands as was expected this morning in line with a deportation order and reports say that he is refusing to leave.
According to BVI News the man is at the Road Town Police Station and bluntly refusing to leave. He has lived in the BVI since he was a toddler – four decades ago – and legal troubles led to a recent deportation order against him.
BVI News said that legal advice is being sought on how to approach the matter.
“I don’t know anyone in Guyana and I am not going no place,” Alphonso is said to have told officials this morning, according to BVI News.
